URMI – My life as a Hijra
URMI – is a poignant portrait film exploring the life of Urmi Jadhav, a trans activists and member of the ancient Hijra community in india. In the film Urmi recounts her upbringing and life in Mumbai and her journey of self-discovery and acceptance within a society that often marginalizes transgender individuals. Through an intimate interview and vivid cinematography, the documentary captures the challenges and triumphs Urmi faces, shedding light on the cultural, social, and personal dimensions of her life.
