In war for Denmark
Many Danish families carry stories of a relative who, in one way or another, took part in the fight for freedom during the german occupation. Yet for most people, what actually happened remains unknown.
Determined to uncover the truth about his own family history, Michael Schmidt-Olsen sets out to investigate what his grandfather did during the war. It soon becomes clear that the task is far greater, and far more complex, than he ever imagined.
Records are scarce. Memories are fragmented. And the deeper Michael digs, the clearer it becomes how much of the resistance existed in shadows, deliberately undocumented and concealed.
A story about a past defined by what was never said.
