Mystery ship

On December 14, 1928, the training ship København departed from Buenos Aires, Argentina, bound for Australia.

Three days later, the ship’s telegraph transmitted a brief message: all well on board.

Then, silence….

At an unknown location in the South Atlantic, the world’s largest sailing ship vanished, taking its crew of 60 men, mostly boys, with it. No distress signal was received. No wreckage was ever recovered. What happened to København remains one of maritime history’s greatest unanswered questions.  A disappearance surrounded by mystery, speculation, and silence.
