The lighthouse and the sand

This film tells the story behind the creation of one of Denmark’s most striking natural Phenomena’s: The gigantic migrating sand dunes at Rubjerg Knude. In just a little over 100 years the migrating dunes have swallowed everything on its way and today only the remains of the old lighthouse stand as a witness to the forces that are at play here. This film depicts man’s futile attempt to control nature and what happens when she fights back.
